Veteran Access Scheme

Your health. Our priority.

The Veteran Access Scheme Pillars of Care

The Veteran Access Scheme provides comprehensive support through the following four pillars of care:

Pillar 1: Medication

Here's how we support veterans with their medication needs:

  • Our DVA trained doctors are available to ensure veterans receive the appropriate RPBS scripts for recognised conditions, especially when their usual doctor hasn't provided these scripts.

  • We provide scripted RPBS medication to veteran patients at no or low cost to the patient

  • We cover the postage of medications to the veteran’s door, with a maximum of one postage fee per month if needed.

Pillar 2: Appliances

We've learned through our conversations with veteran patients that many of them, even after their medical conditions are recognised, aren't aware of the other support available to them.

One of the least known resources is the Repatriation Appliance Program (RAP).

This program allows veterans to access a variety of appliances that can complement their treatment and improve health outcomes, all at no cost to the veteran.

Examples of these appliances include knee braces, diabetic equipment, and blood pressure machines.

RAP appliances can be ordered through the Veteran Access Scheme, either by referral or through contacting one of our nurses.

Pillar 3: Clinical Wellness

We understand that veterans are often trying to adapt and thrive as civilians after leaving the defence force. While many veterans have already found a care team in their local community, they often still need extra support and information

The Veteran Access Scheme offers the support of psychologist Beth Masling, available through referral.

To access Beth’s support, send referrals to vas@provocatus.com.au.

Beth’s services include:

  • Mental health check-ins

  • Anxiety and stress management

  • Depression management

  • Substance use disorders

  • Confidence and self-esteem support

  • Grief and loss counselling

  • Relationship issues

  • Sleep issues

  • Managing change and setting goals

Pillar 4: Health Education

We provide educational support for the ongoing health management of veterans.

This support is available not only to veterans themselves but also to their families, doctors, allied health workers, and others involved in their care.

We believe that health education is a crucial component in helping veterans access the full range of health entitlements for their recognised conditions.

By providing a range of health education services, we aim to empower veterans and their families with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare.
