Treatment for ADF Veterans
The Veteran Access Scheme™ is our unique program at Provocatus, dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans.
On a case-by-case basis, funding for treatment for ADF veterans may be considered by the Australian Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) under their framework. Your doctor is required to assess whether treatment is an appropriate option for you and may seek access through an approved TGA pathway.

Doctors & Prescribers
As the market in Australia expands, so too does the range of medications become available for practitioners to prescribe. Increasingly, doctors need to use their discernment to select the products they know they can trust and feel supported prescribing.
Join our community of practice group for direct invitations to our webinars and events for GPs. Learn more about our pillars of care or contact us if you would like more information on how you can better support your DVA patients.
Once registered, medical practitioners can assess a patient’s eligibility for treatment under the Special Access Scheme or Authorised Prescriber and write a prescription if appropriate. To register a patient under the Veteran Access Scheme, please complete the patient application form.
Pharmacists
Under TGA guidelines, the Special Access Scheme Category A and B, and Authorised Prescriber (AP), pharmacists can provide medicines to patients with a prescription from a licensed medical practitioner.

Provocatus, based in Wollongong on the NSW South Coast, is proudly owned and operated by veterans and veteran spouses, including Dr Michael Mumford and Kasey Mumford. Our leadership team, comprising of ex-Maritime Warfare Officers, ex-Special Operations Engineers, Medical Doctors and Pharmacists, brings extensive medical, pharmaceutical and executive expertise with a deep and enduring connection to the veteran community.

Established in November 2020, Provocatus was inspired by the story of "Darwin Digger" (DD), a 2 Commando Regiment soldier who endured severe injuries in Afghanistan. When DD came under the care of Dr Michael Mumford MBBS FRACGP, his treatment regimen at the time included hundreds of pharmaceutical tablets to manage his injuries. Dr Mumford worked to develop a safer, goal-focused treatment plan to improve DD’s quality of life. Tragically, despite these efforts, DD took his own life in 2018. This loss profoundly shaped Provocatus’ mission to provide compassionate and effective health care for veterans and their families, ensuring they receive the support they need.
