General FAQs

Provocatus is proudly veteran- and veteran-spouse–owned, led by Dr Michael Mumford and Kasey Mumford. We’re based in Wollongong on the NSW South Coast.

Our leadership team includes former Maritime Warfare Officers, Special Operations Engineers, medical doctors and pharmacists bringing extensive medical, pharmaceutical and executive expertise with a deep and enduring connection to the veteran community.

Provocatus began in November 2020, shaped by the story of “Darwin Digger” (DD), a 2 Commando Regiment soldier who endured severe injuries in Afghanistan.

When DD came under the care of Dr Michael Mumford (MBBS, FRACGP), his treatment involved hundreds of pharmaceutical tablets. Dr Mumford worked toward a safer, goal-focused plan to improve DD’s quality of life. Tragically, despite these efforts, DD took his own life in 2018.

This loss profoundly shaped our mission today to deliver compassionate, effective health care for veterans and their families, and to make sure they get the support they need.

The Veteran Access Scheme® is our unique program at Provocatus, dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans.

As an Australian and Veteran Owned medical and pharmaceutical company, we have designed the Veteran Access Scheme® to address the specific health challenges faced by veterans.

The Veteran Access Scheme® helps to alleviate the financial and logistical burdens that often accompany healthcare for veterans, ensuring they receive timely and effective care.

The Veteran Access Scheme® is built on four key pillars of care that provide holistic veteran health services for Australian veterans and their families. These pillars focus on medication, appliances, clinical wellness & health education. Our approach ensures that veterans and veteran families receive the care they need to address chronic health issues and improve their overall wellbeing.

Provocatus works closely with doctors, pharmacists, and allied health professionals to deliver exceptional veteran health care through the Veteran Access Scheme®. Our support includes webinars hosted by leading practitioners as part of our Community of Practice for doctors, aiming to provide a collaborative space to share knowledge, experiences and strategies for supporting veterans with timely and effective care. Join our Community of Practice Group on Facebook, subscribe to our on-demand videos on YouTube or contact us for more information.
