Pillar 3: Clinical Wellness

Mental Health Services (veteran informed psychology)

The Veteran Access Scheme® identifies tailored support as critical for ADF veterans to grow their own skills and develop agency to manage their own mental health. Telehealth sessions are available on referral.

Support from Nurses

In addition, Provocatus can provide tailored nursing support to anyone who has served or is planning to transition out of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). It is available to all veterans, regardless of their DVA status or accepted conditions.

Through a structured telehealth consult, our experienced Veteran Nurses assist participants to:

  • Understand and navigate key elements of the DVA system (e.g. RPBS entitlements, the RAP program, allied health and mental health access)
  • Identify health and wellbeing concerns that may require new or additional support
  • Improve health literacy and confidence in managing their care within their existing local health team
  • Receive support in understanding and accessing available equipment, programs, and services
  • Help the veteran to identify and connect with local Allied Health Services.

Support from Psychologists

We understand that veterans are often working to adapt and thrive as civilians after leaving the defence force. While many veterans have already found a care team in their local community, they often still need extra support and information.

The Veteran Access Scheme offers the support of our in-house psychologists and nurses, available through referral. Their services include:

  • Mental health check-ins
  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Depression management
  • Substance use disorders
  • Confidence and self-esteem support
  • Grief and loss counselling
  • Relationship issues
  • Sleep issues
  • Managing change and setting goals.
